In 2009 the US Mint issued new pennies commemorating the 200th anniversary of Abe's birth and the 100th anniversary of the first Lincoln penny. I had never even heard of them, (let alone seen one) until I went on a tour of the Denver Mint with my Sis last year and the tour guide explained that (for some reason which I can't recall) people hoarded them. Well, I was counting my coins found on the street (up to $1.67) and found this one! It depicts his formative years in Indiana. Admittedly its a bit beat up, but it has a home now.
