Day 3

As usual, I’m having trouble getting the pictures to go on in the right order.
First stop today was the wildlife refuge where saw mostly prairie dogs and bison. This bison got up like he was getting up to charge at us, so we left.
Later we went to the basketball social club and had a great time reliving our high school basketball days.

Day 2

Treasure Hunt day. Alas, we fid not find the treasure. We felt like we were close but it wasn’t there to be found. (Does it even actually exist?) Even so,  we had a great day hiking in the mountains and stopped in Breckenridge for a meal and some shopping. Another great day!

Day 1

Arrived in Colorado and started setting for a backyard county fair party. Lots of good food, games, prizes and fun with friends.

Smoke

The pictures don’t really show it but our air today is very thick with smoke. It stings the eyes and smells like burnt wood. I went outside and started looking around to see if the building was on fire. Luckily it wasn’t the building but is actually blowing in from Canada’s wildfires!

Southside Stroll

A nice day out yesterday. We decided to walk south and see what we could get in to. We went to Obama’s again but this time the focus was the athletic area. We went in to the full size gym, then walked around to the full size football field and track. All very beautiful and very well done. We walked around the House Music festival on our way to the Stony Island Arts Bank which has been restored and now features a library, gallery, tea room and cocktail bar. Afterwards we enjoyed some time at Promontory Point before heading back in town for the Sunday afternoon concert in the park. (Please note: photos are in reverse order.)

Taste of Chicago

Went to the Taste of  Chicago today to get our free Eli’s cheesecake. Waited in line about 20 minutes.
It was worth it!
