Memorial Day

Spent the last day of fleet week taking a tour of two ships. The Bataan, an American Navy Ship and The HMS Protector, a British ice ship. Interesting day. The weekend was also Manhattanhenge, the perfect alignment of the setting Sun. ( pics are all out of order)

Sunday

Sunday, we did a big walk around. Stopped at the flea market where we saw these 2 lovely paintings. A walk through Washington Square Park and all the way down through Wall St and the South Street Seaport. Had a little happy hour with handmade chips. Took the ferry back home.

Two Shows, a Museum & Dinner

Yesterday was a jam packed day! We got cheap tickets to see Birthday Candles with Debra messing, only Debra wasn’t there, the understudy took her role. The play was good but a real downer. We left early for the play hoping to get close enough to avoid walking in the rain. We waited out a small storm in Rockefeller Center, went to a small museum there and afterwards watched some skaters. After the show, we went to our favorite Japanese restaurant for a bite and while there, decided to grab some cheap tickets to another show later in the evening! I know- crazy right! Paradise Square was the next show. It was ok. It had a story and some good singing and Irish dancing. All in all, a good day out.

Opera

The rain ended in time for the Bryant Park performance of The Barber of Seville. First time seeing live opera. Lawn was closed due to the rain but we managed to find a couple seats.
