Another trip to NYC

Went to NYC today. We tried the lottery for cheap tickets to The Book of Mormon, but didn't win. Instead we had a nice lunch, then the boys went to The Museum of Natural History and we went to The Museum of Modern Art. Due to a recent groin pull, I was in a bit of pain and took frequent Tylenols and had to sit down a lot. It would have been nice to have a Rascal!

House Keys

Went to the house yesterday to have the walk through and get the keys.
We got the keys.........but, oh.....my...gosh! Thank goodness our shipment
has not arrived! They claim to have had the home professionally cleaned!
I hope they get their money back! I could not move into a place that filthy.
They are contacting their cleaning crew and will have another go at it! I hope
they do something this time. Can you imagine still having a fireplace full of ashes
in August? I won't even go into detail and haven't taken any photos. Will wait till
after the re-do. I hope they get it done soon!

Revolutionary War Sights

This weekend we took 2 little trips to learn a bit more about the revolutionary war. We went to the Ford Mansion where George Washington had his headquarters 1779 to1780. Below is a photo of the bed he slept in and the kitchen in the mansion. Following that is a photo of a replica of the huts that the soldiers lived in (12 to a hut) during the worst winter on record. After that we travelled along the Interstate Parkway, getting out at various overlooks and stops. It was quite pretty. We also went to Fort Lee over looking the Hudson River. In the background of the pic with the cannon is the George Washington Bridge into New York City. After this we stopped at a huge Japanese shopping center where we had lunch and bought some of our favorite Japanese products, like Asahi Super Dry, Okonomiyaki flour and sauce and yaki soba sauce. This sign was at the area of the appliances.......who knew the laws were so stringent?
