Gil's Bath Robe

I made this adorable little bath robe for Gil this week. I found a book at the library with a pattern and decided to give it a try. It turned out pretty good. He loves it! He loves modeling it,as you can tell by the photos.

Creature Feature

What a morning! I looked out and saw what I thought was a baby deer out back. I grabbed the camera and this rabbit came hopping on to the patio. Of course I had to photograph it on my way out to get closer to the deer. Upon closer inspection I realized there were 2 baby deer! They were so small. The mother ran away and they came right up to me! I could have fed them right out of my hand! After awhile I went in to get the kids, but when they got close to the deer, the mother came back and made some weird sound, telling them to run. After all that, I noticed the chipmunk in the tree.

Birthday Boy

Today is Gil's birthday, 8 yrs. old. My how time flies! He had 3 presents and loved them all. He loves the opening almost as much as the actual gifts. He got a squirrel shaped peanut butter cookie, a stuffed tick and a rubber fish. Isn't he gorgeous!!

Mystery Creature

Gil found this little creature in the yard. It was dead. I don't think Gil had anything to do with its death. I don't even know what it is. The head seems enormous. A bit like a buffalo. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?. After photographing it we gave it a decent funeral.

Groundhog Confirmation

I had previously thought a creature that I'd seen running out of the back yard one day, might be a groundhog. Just the way its body moved seemed slinky, like a groundhog, but it was too small and far away for me to tell for sure. Well, today I saw it and slipped outside quietly, trying to sneak closer for ID purposes. It heard me coming and scuttled away but I leaped across the stream anyway, hoping to see it going into its den. I looked all over the ground where I'd last seen it and thought it was lost, until something high up caught my eye. Sure enough, there it was. A teenaged groundhog. I looked at it for awhile, then talked to it, then went back inside. Then I decided to dig up the camera and see if it was still out there. It was! I got these photos (+ a couple more) He or she seems soooo scared, holding on for dear life, hoping I can't see it. I'm keeping Gil inside until I notice its gone.

Town Anniversary Party

Our town had an anniversary party at the weekend and it was very nice. All food, drinks and entertainment came at no cost. We filled up, then walked around to see what fun there was to be had. We enjoyed the classic cars and the bands. There was a photo booth, a clown and a magician. The magician was amazing. He was a mind reader too! My favorite of course, was one of my long time favorite stars....Barney Fiffe, from Mayberry! Oh, Charlie Chaplin was there too. We had a great time visiting with neighbors and enjoying the fun and games.
