Christmas Eve Party

We had our traditional Christmas Eve party last night. Here you can see the fantastic spread that I put out
.
Here you can see my gorgeous tiger pants (bought at an estate sale for $2)
The kids working on a paper tearing game. Their dad was the winner!

Playing another game where they had to draw a scene with the paper on their head.
The winner of the drawing game.
The prize for each of the games was a scratch off lottery ticket. Below is the only winning ticket. The prize is a whopping $5!!!
Looks like another string of lights went out on my tree. It snowed last night. After 3 days of above 60 degrees F we didn't think we'd have a white Christmas, but we do. Merry Christmas everyone!

Sentimental Gift

I received  a package today from my aunt that was so special and so sweet, I'm still crying my eyes out over it.  She had gotten hold of some of my dad's sweatshirts and had pillows made. She sent me this one and also a t-shirt (which I am wearing now). An exceptionally sweet and thoughtful thing to do. I've got the best family ever!

Handcrafted Ornament

I went to a program at the library and made this lovely ornament out of melted crayons and a glass ball.

Snow Man

Gil and I made a little snowman. Well, Gil mainly just jumped around and rooted in the snow but that was a big help.

First Snow

The first snow of the season! Woke up to a gorgeous winter wonderland. There were even some dear frolicking around behind the back fence. Gil loves it!

Painting Lesson

My Ladies Club just started a painting group. I made this last week. I think it turned out pretty good. Now I need to find a nice frame!

Thanksgiving and Black Friday

We had a lovely Thanksgiving meal, put up the Christmas tree and watched the premier of my latest movie on the big screen. The next day, we went into the city, where hubby and I went to several holiday markets and looked at the pretty Christmas windows in the Manhattan department stores.

Stocking Sniffer

We put up the stockings and Gil can't  keep away from his. He's constantly sniffing it and wanting to get into it. Only 25 more days!!!!

Wooden Bowl

Our aunt got these beautiful wooden bowls for my sister and me, after our dad passed away. Our uncle burned in this quote, made famous by my dad in my first movie, titled "The Pancake". Its a beautiful way to remember him.

It doesn't really go with this room, but eventually we'll find the right spot for it.

College Theatrical Debut

Went to see the boy's performance last weekend. The Play was called Buried Child and was quite dramatic. Below are some photos from the play. The boy was outstanding in his role.

My Dad

Some photos of my dad as a young father, young man and a boy on his horse.

Dad

My dad passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. We are glad that he didn't suffer long and his passing seemed to go the way he had wanted it to.

While there was much sadness and tears there were also times of fun and laughter with family while we were there.

We visited the places he loved where he passed many happy hours.

We also took some time to clean our mom's house.

Parent's Day

Much has happened since my last post. I'll take it in order I guess, and start with parent's day.
We went to see the boy. Had lunch in his cafeteria and a nice day visiting with him.

Horse Adventures

Sunday, we were heading out of town when we saw a sign stating that there would be a parade of horse drawn carriages, as a prelude to a horse racing event at a nearby park. We scrapped our plans and waited about 10 minutes for the parade, then drove to the park for the event. At the park they gave descriptions of the carriages and their owners and the horses pulling them. Then the trumpet sounded as the hounds and riders took the field. Following this display, the races began. It was a very different and interesting day. All photos are from my phone. Wish I'd have had the real camera with me, but the whole thing was a complete surprise.
