Whitehill Mansion

Took the boy to Whitehill Mansion today. We happened on to a paranormal show last week, that featured the Whitehill Mansion. After the show I looked it up and found out that it was fairly close by and they just happened to have an open house today.

The house was originally built in the 1700's. There was a second house built very close to the original structure, then they were combined to create one huge house. In the 1920's it became a restaurant with a speakeasy in the basement, which had tunnels for escape to the river. It has an interesting history and is also haunted.
We didn't experience anything ghostly, but the tour was excellent and the tour guide was superb!

Willowwood Garden

Last hike of the year with the hiking group. We went to Willowwood and walked around the garden and a short trail. Afterward, we had a potluck lunch at a member's home nearby. Her bird really wanted up on the table so she finally let her on at the end of the meal.

Intercourse

Took a trip to Intercourse PA with my craft group. A lovely drive into Amish country. We saw some Amish folks working in their gardens with hand tools and mule/horse pulled equipment. The farms were very nice. Clothes hanging on the line, people in their Amish clothing walking, riding buggies or these scooter things. There were lots of shops to walk around in. I managed to get some fabric and my lunch. That was all. But that was plenty.
