Mannequin

Just happened to go into a shop yesterday that was going  out of business.
They had these half mannequins for sale for $5.

Naturally I couldn't pass it up.

Now to decide what to do with it……….

Nemours Mansion

We went on a little day trip to Delaware last weekend to visit Nemours, the former mansion of Alfred I Du Pont. It was okay. I've seen better mansions and gardens. No pics of the inside allowed and not much going on in the garden.

Craft Group Catch Up

A friend from the craft group had me over the other day to catch up on what I missed while on my trip.
Below are the 2 kokodama that I made and are now hanging out back. Also practiced some fabric and thread dying. 2 examples below.

More Pics from the Road Trip

Another good beach day!

View of downtown.

A baby gorilla riding on his mama's back (view from butt end)

Gorillas outside. I got a little sad at the zoo thinking of these majestic creatures penned up for people to look at them all day. And most of the people looking didn't show any respect for them.

Cat nap.

Picasso sculpture.

Church reflection.

Looking wistfully at the dog beach. Too bad his mom won't let him go.

Third Stop on the Trip

Visited the girl and did some painting while there. Finally got rid of the hideous jungle mural in her bedroom and switched from blue to grey walls. Spent a few days at the beach, went to the Blues Festival and did loads of other fun things while there.

Second stop on Summer Road Trip With Gil

Gil and I proceeded with our road trip heading northwest to our old neighborhood with best friends
in Indiana. Had a great time catching up and seeing all the things that had changed and the things that have stayed the same.

Other visits with family members

Memorial Tree Planting Ceremony

Had a lovely memorial service for my dad in which we planted a white dogwood tree on the farm near the spot where he once tumbled over the hillside on his riding mower. (The next day a pink one was planted by the barn) Sister and I buried some of the ashes in the hole before we covered it all up. We had some nice readings, a poem and a prayer and afterward there was great food and fellowship with nearly all the family. A great day!
