You Guessed it!

Yep, you guessed it…….more snow.  Another 7 inches!
Shoveled twice yesterday and once today.
My arms are about to fall off. Luckily my neighbor has a snow blower and cleared half of the bottom of the driveway for me where the plows had it piled about 4 feet deep.

Art Museum Trip & Lunch

Went with my ladies group on a tour of a small art museum nearby and had a nice lunch at a mediterranean restaurant.

Just finished shoveling the driveway and sidewalks again!!

Craft Challenge Completed

I finished the craft group challenge. I still need to get a stick for the top so I can hang it up, but here it is after I took it off the loom.
I really enjoyed it. Now thinking of making another!

Activities

This past week has been peppered with ice storms every other day or so. In between I've been able to do some activities. Below is a pic of the brave gals of the hiking group. We went out last Friday for about an hour and half.
Below you will see the rug yarn pieces that I found in the engine of my car, when I opened the hood to add wind shield wiper fluid. I had seen pieces pulled from the rug in the garage and knew that mice were making a nest with it. I just never imagined they would make the nest right in the engine!

Hubby and I made it to 2 estate sales on Saturday before the snow. At one, we saw this enormous bag of blonde wigs. At first glance it looks like a pile of golden doodle puppies. We didn't buy any.

Went to visit the boy on Sunday before the ice storm. Saw this nice snow man on the street corner. His sign says "get me outa here". I agree. I'm tired of the winter weather. Calgon take me away!

Flower Arrangement

I went to a flower arrangement lesson today and we learned to make a topiary. This is mine once I got it home. Its pretty good I guess.

Wall Hanging

I decided that I would try my hand at weaving for the craft group challenge. I looked it up on the line and found that I could make my own loom out of cardboard. So that's what I have done. The girl said she'd like to have a wall hanging made with mostly blues, so I am making it with her in mind. Luckily most of the yarn that I already have is in this color group, so I hope to use all that I have and reduce my stock pile. I will try to remember to take photos and update you on it frequently. This is what I've done so far.

Gil's new sweater

So I washed a sweater of the girl's and shrunk it into a dog size. I cut off the sleeves and made it into a lovely turtle neck sweater for Gil. He absolutely adores and he's adorable in it, as you can see here.

Craft Group Field Trip

My craft group took a field trip last week to see an exhibit about modern tapestry, some of which are pictured below. They were magnificent. Along with the tapestries is a photo of the mill out of the upstairs window. So the group decided that our new challenge will be a wall hanging. So its pretty wide open as far as what we can make and what technique to use. After much thought I decided to do weaving similar to the tapestries that we saw. More on that in the next post.

Deer

It seems there was a smallish deer on my front sidewalk. S/he stopped at the steps to the porch. Probably too icy.
