Hurricane Preparedness

Found this slipped under our door this morning. Two pages of preparedness tips. Luckily, I think the storm has gotten weaker and we may not have to use the tips after all.

Birthday

Having a nice birthday weekend. Started on Thursday and continues on.

Summer Streets

NYC Summer Streets is on this year! Park Avenue is closed to cars and open to walkers and bikers/skaters etc…for 7 miles from Central Park to the Brooklyn Bridge. We were lucky enough to get a free bike rental. It was a fun day!

Weekend fun

I don’t know what makes the photos go out of order and I can’t figure out how to get them in order, so I’ll just let you figure it out for yourselves.
1) Rudy’s Bar and Grill has finally reopened and while closed, they redid the inside. Floors and walls are newly finished and look at the booths! They used to be red with duct tape holding the stuffing in! Now it’s all new!
2) Finally made it to the new Hall of stems and minerals at the natural History museum. I used to have a rock collection.
3) Outdoor concert at Elizabeth Street Gardens.

Summer Stage

Summer stage at Lincoln Center. Jazz orchestra with Branford Marsalis  a great concert and a nice night out

Table Runner

Finally put my little embroidered art squares onto cloth and made a table runner out of them. It turned out ok.

Night Out Against Crime

The neighborhood’s Night Out Against Crime featured a live band, free food, games for kids.
A nice evening.

Alice Neel

Finally got a chance to see the Alice Neel exhibit before it closes. Pretty good. Although I can’t help but notice in the painting below, the subject appears to have her shoes on the wrong feet. Artistic mistake or actual fact?

Ready For School

Well our lad has made the move. Waiting now for school to start up.
