Boy, Snake & Jack-o-lantern

Went to see the boy yesterday. Took him some warm clothes and had lunch.

Found this dead snake in the yarn. I think it's a Milk Snake.

Carved my pumpkin yesterday. Here it is al lit up for Halloween.
Alas, we had no trick or treaters. I hadn't expected any, so wasn't
too upset.

The Boat House

Date night at the Boat House in Lambertville.

Hiking Group

Finally got a chance to go with my old hiking group.
A great day out!

A Little Bit of Cuteness

A few recent cute closeups.

Acorns

Made these cute little needle felted acorns yesterday. Wish I'd had some different colors of roving. Oh well, at least they're fall colors. Hope they stay glued to the caps!

Ferns

Brought my ferns in before yesterday's frost. Hoping they'll stay alive all winter.

Wooly Worm Winter Prediction

I've been seeing a lot of wooly worms out and about. Below is what the Farmer's Almanac says about the wooly's prediction of winter weather. According to the ones I've seen, we're set for a mild winter!

This is the legend: The Woolly Bear caterpillar has 13 distinct segments of either rusty brown or black. The wider the rusty brown sections (or the more brown segments there are), the milder the coming winter will be. The more black there is, the more severe the winter.

These are some of the Wooly Worms I saw this week.

Our little town had the pumpkin festival last night. Below are some pics of the festivities and some of my favorite pumpkins.

Pretty Fall Day

Took Gil to the reservoir for a walk on a fantastic fall day last week.

Lakota Wolf Preserve

Took a trip to the Lakota Wolf Preserve this week. It was very interesting. Learned a lot about wolves, foxes and bobcats.

One of the arctic wolves.

One of the timber wolves.

Got my hair cut. Took Gil on a walk in town where they were having a fall festival.
Also went to a food truck festival in the Poconos.
