Old Maid

I had thoughts of painting something everyday but no idea what it would be.  It would have to be small so that it could be finished in one go. I decided it would be something card sized then finally decided on one of my favorite card games: Old Maid. I had a lot of theme ideas but eventually decided on animals.  It’s not a big deck, only 12 matched pairs and 1 Old Maid.

Korean Travel

I cut through Grand Central Station today and found myself at the Korean Travel Experience. Won a pen.

It was a nice exhibit but the lines to the K-Pop, food tasting and beauty exhibits were too long.

India Independence Day Parade

After watching a movie scene getting made, we walked on a little farther and watched part of the India Independence Day Parade. The crowd went wild for the famous Bollywood actor, but I didn’t know him.

Movie Scene

Walked onto a movie set this weekend. Apparently a movie called Straight Shooter, for Netflix. We watched them get ready for 2 takes. I would’ve filmed a whole movie in the time this took!
This guy walked down the street and stopped in front of the UN.

A police car used in the scene. Note: no precinct number, just movie tv.

Above, getting everyone ready. Below: this poor guy got in trouble by his boss for not yelling loud enough that bikes were coming and look out. I could’ve done that job.

Outside the UN, getting instruction before the shoot.

The scene: black SUV’s and police cars race down 1st Ave and speed in through the UN gates.

On Our Own Again

Our boy left yesterday afternoon, so we walked around and went to a concert at Bryant Park. Today we went to the main library to see the exhibition of more of their treasures, then walked up to Central Park.

Third Day of Birthday Party

On the third day of my birthday extravaganza weekend, my boy arrived. We went for a walk about town, happened on to the Dominican Parade and finished the day with another round of bourbon and pecan pie and the gifts presentation.
