Boop

We caught the holiday train downtown to see a show. Boop the Musical. It was fantastic

King of Cups

After the Zoo Lights we stopped in to a pub we’ve never been to before, where I got a drink that came with fire and a tarot card reading which indicated all is good.

Zoo Lights

We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo on Friday evening. It was chilly out, finally got out my heavy coat. The lights were nice and some of the animals were outside. The lions were roaring and having a great time.

Thanksgiving Parade

We got up extra early on Thanksgiving, not to put a Turkey in the oven, but to get downtown to check in for the parade, then get a continental breakfast and our parade jackets. It was daylight by the time we got to the banner staging area where we waited around for our coordinator who showed up late. We put the banners together and the leader showed up in time to get us out in front of our groups. We were in front of the Jessie White Tumblers who kept stopping to tumble and made us look like we weren’t keeping up. Finally got thru and went back for another run only this time, we were balloon handlers. We handled the Grinch balloon. They were short on balloon handlers and were picking people out of the crowd to help with it. Needless to say, it did not go entirely smoothly but we made it to the end. Looking forward to doing it again next year!

Mag Mile Festival

After we found our check in and staging areas for next week’s parade, we headed towards Michigan Ave for the Festival of Lights. There we found free cheesecake, free donut holes and coffee and kefir. We also found the staging area for the parade they would have, after we had gone back to the south side.

Update

Update to the holiday train story from earlier. We got off at our stop and as we were walking to the exit the decorated train went past. Here it is from the outside.

Holiday Train

We hopped on a train, headed to down town so we could recon our parade locations ahead of next Thursday. And what a nice surprise! The train was decorated for the holidays with lights, window clings, fake snow and more.
I could hardly wait till it was time to go back home to see how it looked at night.
To my great disappointment, the train we took was not decorated.😞

Parade School

We’ve volunteered to work at the Thanksgiving Parade.

This morning we went to Parade School. We’re going to be banner carriers.

You can watch the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade on Pluto, streaming for free, apparently.

Picasso

Went to the new Picasso exhibition at the AIC. It was different.

I didn’t  even realize he did work in wood cuts, linoleum and crayon. Interesting.
