New Project

Have started a new project. Making a Kawandi Quilt.
Will be a great way to use up my scraps. First time trying, so hoping it works out. It’s made from the outside in.
So far I’ve picked the pieces completely at random. Might not be able to be so random once I start the second round. I think size may come into play at that point, but we shall see. In the pics below, you’ll see my rectangle supply, the first rectangle sewn, a line of rectangles and the back.

Shakespeare

Free Shakespeare at Bryant Park. The Winter’s Tale. Pretty good. Beautiful evening to be outside.

Getting Back in the Swing

Sunday, rainy and gray. Spent some time at MoMA watching a Japanese film and indulging in a free beverage. Checking for covid after the trip, both negative. Tony Awards tonight. Here’s a little arrival action. And cake night!! Bourbon pecan pie with bourbon!

Back in NYC

Back in NYC, summer is in full swing. Concerts and game nights at Bryant Park. All sorts of excitement in Central Park.

Day 2

Day 2 started out gray and cloudy. I walked around Millennium Park then happened on to a neighborhood festival where I picked up some freebies. Later my girl met me and we went to the Art Institute. We went to the Special Cezanne exhibit. My goodness, he was not very good with the human body. Excellent with his still life and landscapes! A great day!
