Solar Eclipse

So, we weren't in the path of totality, but got together with the neighbors today to watch the eclipse. Wish I could have been closer, maybe next time.

Pre-eclipse sky

My homemade pinhole camera.

Eclipse through my pinhole projection camera.

You can see the eclipse a little in 2 pics below.

Finished At Last!

I finally finished cross stitching this linen tablecloth that I've been working on since January!
It turned out nice, but man, was it ever boring!

Car Show Surprise

We usually go to the twice a month car show, but this time, there was a surprise.
See photos below

The surprise isn't the cars or trucks,

It isn't the cool Irish Wolf Hounds,

The surprise is this super cute piglet hanging out in front of the antique shop.
His name is Mr. Wiggles.

More Music

2 more free concerts last week. First, The British Invasion Years, at the library.
Then, The Amish Outlaws, at the park.
Both excellent shows!

Birthday Opening

Opened up my birthday cards and packages this morning. Lots of nice wishes from 2 aunts, daughter, sister and hubby. Gil helped by opening the envelopes then ripping them to shreds.

Tall Ship

Actually called a cutter, we saw this Coast Guard Ship docking near the Intrepid Air and Space Museum. Its one of only 2 tall ships in the US Military. Originally operated by Nazi Germany to train cadets for the German Navy, the ship was taken by the United States as a war prize after World War II. In 1946, a U.S. Coast Guard crew – aided by the German crew still on board – sailed the tall ship from Bremerhaven to its new homeport in New London, Connecticut.

Later went to Rudy's for some refreshment, where we met up with the boy and had the first of my birthday dinners out.

6 Points

Bad pics, I know, but this fella who was in the yard yesterday had 3 points on each antler. Pretty big!

Trey's back!

I know you can't see it here, but the three legged deer, Trey, is alive! I haven't seen her in months and had feared the worst. But saw her in the yard today.

Trickery

Hubby and I were driving along a back road when we came upon this sign. Well, we got pretty excited because those are 2 of our favorite things.....Some good dipping oil and chips of any kind, but alas, We never  found either one.
What a disappointment!

Empty Nest Party

Had the neighbors over for a little happy hour last week.
Welcomed them into the Empty Nest Club.

More Music

More free music! First up, a pretty good Springsteen cover band.

Saw Everybody's Everything at the court house, during the car show. An excellent band of older folks like us, that played all sorts of music. Really good!

A local favorite, CC Coletti.
