Tick

The following pics are pretty gross, but just know up front, the pics are from my knee, at the bend. After I got home from the gym I noticed my knee area was hurting and saw something red/black. Without glasses it appeared to be a scab. I rubbed some Neosporin on it and went about my day. Just a while ago I decided to put on some magnifying glasses to see about that scab that was hurting. It seemed loose on one end, then I realized it wasn't a scab at all but a TICK! Yowza! I tried to pull it out but it was gross so hubby got the tweezers and got it out for me. It hurt even more once the tick was out! Its not a deer tick so I'm not too worried about Lyme disease. ouch! Yuck! At first you might think the tick was on my butt but the last pic should confirm that its near the bend of my knee.

3 Legged Dear

I didn't get a good pic, but the dear who's face is hidden in the first pic, was in the back yard nibbling grass when I noticed he only had 3 legs. I got the binoculars and waited for him to turn to the other side to see how far up the leg was missing. He finally turned and I saw it was off all the way up to the butt. Poor dear. I don't know how it happened or how it got such a smooth cut so high up. I went outside to try to get a good pic but they spooked and took off leaping and running. I was glad to see that the other dear didn't seem to ostracize him/her in any way.

Sudden trip to Iceland!

Last week I took a sudden trip to Iceland with my beautiful daughter. We had a great time! We spent 3 days in Reykjavik, touring the town, relaxing in the geothermal pools and mixing it up with the locals. We went on a tour in the southern countryside, saw some black sand beaches, waterfalls, volcanos and walked on a glacier. unfortunately we were not lucky enough to see the northern lights.
That's okay. I had a great time anyway!

Snowy Day

On Thursday it was sunny with temps in the mid 60's. On Friday it started snowing around 7am and by noon it was a beautiful, winter wonderland.

Afternoon Tea

Went to an Afternoon Tea with ladies from my women's club.

Roxy

Roxy the fox has been hanging out in the back yard. I've seen him twice a day for the last several days. I think he might be one of Copper's kids. I'm sure Copper is a female and had 3 babies last spring. I'm guessing Roxy to be a male based on him raising his leg to pee. And I'm sure he's one of the babies, returning to his birth place for spring.
