I just can't help it! Isn't he adorable? I found him lying on his little sofa with his white bear and couldn't resist taking his photo.

KWC spring luncheon
We had our KWC spring luncheon yesterday. The turnout was small but the entertainment was smokin'. It was a jazz group. It started with just the piano player and he asked if he could bring some friends. As far as I could tell they don't ordinarily play together but they were great. The food was good also.

We made it!
Well, we made it! Today is Friday and school has been closed all this week, by order of the mayor of Kobe, because of the swine flu. The kids have had to get their assignments via the internet or email from teachers and do them with little or no supervision. (I guess we'll fnd out later, how well they did at that.) Many other scheduled activities have also been cancelled. I just hope we can return to normal life next week. aahhhhhh!

Mt Shosha
Since the kids had to go back to school before the hub went back to work, we had another day to ourselves. We decided to go to Mt. Shosha in Himeji. The kids had balked at going before anyway, so we decided to do it without them. 2 trains, a bus and a ropeway ride later (approximately 2 hrs. total) we arrived at Mt Shosha. I chose a walking stick and we began the steep climb. It is rumoured that all who climb this mountain will be purified in both body and spirit. We're not sure if that includes coming half way up in a cable car! Some of the movie, 'The Last Samurai' was filmed in/around the Engyoji Temple at the top of the mountain. It was beautiful. The photos don't do it justice.
