Halloween Shop

Stopped by the Halloween shop to get some ideas for my costume this year. These are some of my favorites. Not sure which one to go with.                                

Family Fun day at school

Went to family fun day at school today. There were sports games, children's activities, booths and lunch. The boy's class had the pie throwing booth. Here's where I paid the cash and got to smoosh pie in his face. He was a good sport about it. They also let people go into the school garden and pick the crops. Here's a picture of my haul, squash, pumpkins, beets, peppers, eggplant, tomato and raspberries. The small sweet potatoes are from my own garden. A fun day out for all.

Cut

Cut my finger at book club on a broken wine glass.

Street Fair

Went to a street fair where we saw this guy stretched out on the grill. The boy ate some of him in a sandwich and said he was really tasty!

Duke Farms

Last weekend we went to Duke Farms for a couple hours of hiking around the grounds. It was a gorgeous fall day. Can't wait to go back after the leaves have started changing. It'll really be pretty.

Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum

A couple weeks ago, we went to NYC to visit the Intrepid Museum. We used a pass from the library so we didn't have to pay to get in. We had a nice day out and even found a nice Ethiopian restaurant for lunch.

Puzzle Completed!!!!!

In June I opened a 2,000 piece puzzle and began working it on the dining room table. I thought it would make a nice summer project for the family. Others weren't so interested in helping with it and it was taking longer to finish than I imagined.  When my company came, they helped a lot and I was only a few hundred pieces away from finishing when they left. Various visitors have put in a piece or two here and there. 
Finally this afternoon I finished it!!!
Now we can use the table for eating again!

Senior Convocation

They had some sort of senior convocation at school yesterday. Seniors had to recite a pledge, then they got a pin and wrote their names in a big book. I thought they should have been using some sort of feather pen, like Harry Potter, but they didn't. My camera went blurry on the photo of him writing, don't know why. 

First Day/Last Day

Orientation and First Day of senior year.

Bittersweet, since its the last "first day" for me. (I've been doing it now for 14 yrs.) Unless, as hubby pointed out: I go to college with him or as the boy pointed out: I adopt a human baby. I don't think either of those will happen.
