Carousel Lavender Farm

Went with my ladies group to a lavender farm in Pennsylvania today. The weather was gorgeous and we had a great day out. The farmer, Nico, gave us a tour of the whole place and told us how he got into it and all about it. Unfortunately he lost over 1,000 plants because of the harsh winter. It was really nice though and now I'm wondering if I could turn my farm into a lavender farm?

Rug

Got this beautiful, huge rug at an estate sale for $95. What a bargain!

Family Walk

Out and about on a gorgeous day. Took a walk along an old canal route. Saw a couple of squirrels and a chipmunk, about 8 or 9 turtles and 2 snakes.

Father's Day

First Father's Day without my dad. Sure do miss him.

Les Miserables

Went in to the city this weekend and saw Les Miserables, my favorite show of all time. Pretty good rendition, although the actor playing Javert wasn't particularly good. Got to sit in the 6th

row down front. Very exciting.

Birthday Boy

Our little boy turned 10 last week! Hard to believe he's getting so old. Seems like only yesterday I took my friend to look at a yorkie and came home with that frightened little bundle of black fur so young he didn't have teeth! 10 years later he's lived in 2 different countries and 2 different states (for a total of 4 different houses) and travelled to 8 different states by car, numerous times.

No wonder the poor little thing is on prozac!

Watermelon Cake

Saw a photo and recipe for watermelon cake in a magazine and decided to try it at my board meeting today. The original had whipped cream and raspberries on top with some chopped pistachios. I went with vanilla flavored greek yogurt (a healthier option) and blueberries (no pesky seeds to get stuck in your teeth). Didn't put any nuts on. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. I liked it.

Friends

 Found Gil lying out in the yard the other day, just enjoying the sun…or so I thought. Upon closer inspection I realized his best pal Dempsey is sitting over in his yard and they seemed to be having a little pow-wow.

Little Guy

Found this little guy sitting in the drive way one day this week. He didn't seem frightened and sat there for quite a while. Finally I went inside to get a lettuce leaf and a carrot. When I came back he was gone. I left it for him anyway.

Weinie Roast

The kids and I had a weinie roast last week. Weinie and shrimp roast actually. Just enjoying the nice weather and our big back yard while we still have it.
