Finished Rugs

Finally finished all 3 of my braided rag rugs. Used up all my old fabric and the denim border is from my dad's old jeans.

Ascot

Made an ascot tie out of an old scarf.

Ohio

Took a trip to Ohio to spend time with family. Met my sis at the airport and we spent the weekend together visiting our dear family.

First stop, the casino. I lost and she came out ahead!

Had our favorite pizza.

Played some pool at the hotel.

Went to some new attraction with historic trees.

Boy's Visit

The boy came to visit a few weeks ago. Here we're putting him on a train to go back.

Oshaberkai

My Japanese group met today to remember our dear friend Chizuko who passed away suddenly last month. Our host prepared a lovely temaki making party. It was nice to get together and reminisce about our friend together, over great Japanese food.

Spring is Here (I hope)

Had a lovely spring day last Sunday. It was sunny and warmish. Lots of folks were out enjoying the day down town.

        Happened to find this lovely fur stole at Marshalls for 2.99. Isn't he adorable in it?

Kimono Talk

2 weeks ago I went to a kimono talk at the Japan Society with my Oshaberikai group. The speaker was from Kyoto and he spoke about how the traditional art of making kimono is dying and ways to re-energize the industry and make it more accessible to modern society. It was a nice evening out.
