Lovely fall day for a walk with Gil.

Vultures

The other day I noticed all these turkey vultures in a tree out back. I decided to go into the brush and see if there was something dead. Once I got through the briars and tall weeds, I finally found what they were eating. It was the body of a baby deer. Not sure how he died there. I didn't see any bullet holes or arrows. I said a little prayer for him.

Sunday Outing

Took a trip on Sunday to the Jersey Shore. Went to Sandy Hook. Saw the lighthouse (hubby went to the top. I tried, but got vertigo and had to come back down), Fort Hancock (including the officer's home that was furnished the way it would have been in the 40's during the hey day of the base) and the beach.

 A great day out!
