Got out and about yesterday. Streets and sidewalks still fairly snowy. Went to MoMA. Some new paintings and exhibitions since last visit. Found a new outsider artist to add to my favorites list: Joseph E Yoakum. Similar to my fave Henry Darger. Also stopped in to the Bier Haus for happy hour on the way home. Nice to get out and about.
Expat mom leaves Japan after nearly 4 yrs. to begin a new adventure living in New Jersey, then moves to NYC 7 yrs later. But then moves to Chicago.

Quilt
I’m finally ready to start putting together the New York Story quilt top. I ordered some material for front and back and the batting. At the last minute, I realized the embroidered squares would look better with a black frame, so I’ve spent the week doing that. Slow going without a sewing machine but enjoyable. It will take quite a while to put together, but I’ll try to update you as I go.

Last weekend
Last Sunday I got out of quarantine and it was warmish (37) so took a walk. Popped into a gallery featuring 1970’s graffiti sort of art and upstairs, to my great surprise, a Henry Darger. Henry is one of my favorites. You should read up on his life- fascinating! Although I’m not going to buy it for $650,000.00! Afterwards, a walk through Central Park restored and revitalized me after my longtime being housebound.
