A Full Day
On Father’s Day we took the train downtown to go to a couple of street festivals. The temp was in the upper 80’s but we thought, why not? So we did.
First stop was Sunday on State where we saw a Tony Bennett performer, among other things. After that we stopped in the Palmer House to cool off. Then we worked our way over to the Japan Festival. We cooled off in the AIC before hopping back on the train. We got off a couple stops later to check out a lakeside bar/cafe that we might bike to sometime. The beers were not very cold but there was a nice breeze coming off the water. We decided to try to get on the train at a different stop and after some initial worry, we were able to get to civilization and made it to a train station. A severe thunderstorm showed up on our weather app and we thought we’d better just high tail it on home before it started. Alas, it did not even rain.

Big Night Out
After spending nearly two weeks isolating because we had Covid, we finally emerged together, out in public.
We walked around downtown, saw a photography exhibit at the HW Library (talked with the artist), had a nice dinner out, then made our way to the Steppenwolf Theater, where we had a drink and saw a very good show.
