Saturday Night

After leaving MOMA we walked past Trump's 5th Ave residence and sure enough, there was a ton of police and security all around the building, waiting for him to breeze into town to watch a fight at Madison square Garden.

Later we went to open mic night. It was fun.

 Upon leaving the open mic night, we found the street all blocked off with cops and discovered that it was so trump could get to the Garden after landing. Traffic was held up for over an hour and just think of all the cops who had to be paid extra.

 Just look at the traffic backed up for miles so that he could go pretend he likes the fights. Even ambulances couldn't get through. Not really worth it in my opinion.

MOMA

The MOMA reopened recently, so we went on Saturday. I had been to the Met earlier in the day and to be quite frank, the art there was a whole lot better. The building was nice and I'm looking forward to going back to the creativity lab, which we didn't go into on this visit.

Felix Vallotton

Went to the Met for a volunteer open house. Afterwards, I went to the Felix Vallotton exhibition.

His woodblock prints are outstanding. Makes me want to do the Lino cuts again.

Vallotton did a portrait of Gertrude Stein about a year after Picasso did his. She wasn't very pleased with either one, they say. I like Vallotton's better.

Pre-Marathon Race

We got up this morning to find people gathering across the street. The doorman said it was for the marathon. Turns out it is part of the Marathon Event schedule but is a smaller race, a 5k fundraising for the qualitas of life foundation.
