We had a big weekend and the weather was perfect. We went to a lecture on Gustave Caillebotte, saw a play, went to a yoga and candle making workshop, took a long walk beside the lake, ate some good food and enjoyed some live music.
Expat mom leaves Japan after nearly 4 yrs. to begin a new adventure living in New Jersey, then moves to NYC 7 yrs later. But then moves to Chicago.

Calling It Done
I’m calling it quits on the restoration of this old quilt. I hadn’t plan for it to turn out this way, but just let the art take its own route. All the hexagons are made from scrap fabrics that I’ve had in the closet. I tried to stick with blues and white, but had to branch out as I ran out of fabrics.

No Trump/ No Troops that’s our current battle cry in Chicago. It seems TACO has realized that we won’t stand for any of that nonsense here and has backed off his plan to waste tax payer dollars by sending troops to our beautiful city.

Nice Weekend
Nice weekend in Chicago. We made it to the Taste of Chicago, where we got our free cheesecake, yum!
Next, the Printer’s Row Lit Fest.Lots of books, author discussions and fun writing related activities. Lastly, we tried a Japanese restaurant we hadn’t been to before.
