Visit

Went to see the boy on Saturday. Took a 2 hour food tour. Had lots of good food samples. Then went to the San Gennaro festival.

A nice day out.

Music Night

Took Gil downtown for Music night on Friday. There was a Billy Joel Tribute band that was fantastic!

The weather was perfect. It was a beautiful night.

Tap Shoes

I happened to find this pair of tap shoes in a thrift store, that are just my size. I have started doing lessons on you tube. Its pretty fun. Soon as I learn a little routine and do it well, I'll post a little video.

Guest Bagger

Through the food pantry that I volunteer at, I had the opportunity to be a "guest bagger" at the local grocery store that donates and helps keep us afloat. 
Luckily I had the 15 items and under line. Most people coming through the line donated a dollar or more to the "Partners in Caring" program  the store uses to help feed the hungry. Most of the shoppers were very pleasant, although I did have 1 woman who emptied out the bags I packed for her and said I did it all wrong. Oh well.

Ground Hog Hole Stopper

There is an enormous groundhog living under the shed in the back yard. I have tried to plug one of the holes with rocks. Every couple of days s/he will move the rocks out of the way and open up the entrance. Now I have used this large wooden thing with rocks piled on it. It has remained undisturbed for 2 days. We shall see how long it takes it to move this out of the way!

New Fashion Trend

I spent the day at my volunteer job, then stopped at a couple shops in town before going home. Once there I took Gil out for a little walk around. It was at this time that I happened to look down at my feet and realized what I had been wearing all day.
                                                        Nobody said a word about it.

Bethlehem

Had no plans yesterday, then suddenly decided to head to the Sands Casino in Bethlehem PA.

I managed to lose $20 at the slot machines, but had fun doing it. Then we went to the Outlet Mall in the casino building where we picked up a couple of bargains. 

After the casino and mall, we decided to see what the welcome center and the steel stacks were all about. It was cool. The've taken the abandoned Bethlehem Steel facilities and made a sort of monument. There's a walkway with informative signs telling about the history of the steel plant. Quite interesting. The campus also includes an art center, PBS tv studio & a concert area, in addition to the casino and mall. Below are some photos.
