Women's Group

My women's group had an interesting speaker at this month's coffee morning. She's a professional fashion pattern maker. She used to work for some famous designers but now has her own business and works for whoever she wants. It was very interesting to see how she takes the designers drawing and idea and makes the pattern for the sewers to create the garment. The pattern is nearly always in a size 2 because the runway models are all that size. She has worked all over the world, but prefers New York. Early in her career she worked on an Oscar dress for Glenn Close, who she said was the nicest of all the stars she ever worked on.

An interesting morning for sure.
