So, I walked to the Met Breuer this week, looking for a little art inspiration.
I went specifically to see the work of Vija Celmins whom I had read about in my New Yorker magazine (thanks for the birthday present Sis).
Born in Latvia in 1938, her family fled the atrocities of WWII ending up in Indianapolis where her interest in drawing took shape. She is known for photo-realism (not a favorite of mine) and work on display was done in oil and graphite as well as sculpture.
I did get inspired and have a nugget of an idea for Gil's next book.
We shall see where it leads.
