Greenwich Village Food Tour

Took a fantastic food and culture tour of Greenwich Village with some new friends. Joe's pizza, the "best pizza by the slice in NYC", was good. I had 1 1/2 slices before moving on to O & Co., an olive oil and gourmet shop. We tried some bread with a fantastic basil olive oil on it and some with a chocolate spread. (I bought some of the oil...it was that good!). After, went to a restaurant where we were served mac-n-cheese, not a dish that I normally like, but the top crust of cheese was fabulous. After this we stopped in a basement speakeasy for a chat and to get out of the rain. Next we went into a place where we sat at the bar, had a drink and a plate of 4 appetizers. After that we went to a shop that served us a big, warm delicious chocolate chip cookie. People who thought they were full, (like me) still managed to eat it. We went to an off broadway theater for another chat. We went to a deli where we had a very tasty rice ball (my favorite food on the trip), then went to a cheese shop where we tried 4 cheeses and olives. I thought we were done, but found out we had one more stop at a bakery where we sampled a canoli. A really great trip filled with lots of good food and fascinating info about the area.
