First full day: we started out the day at Middleton Plantation. We first took a tour of the gardens and learned about the family and the property.
Next, we learned about the slaves on the plantation and what their lives must have been like. The take away was, (for me at least); complicity. How everyone through time and place, the world over, has been complicit in the treatment of the slaves and of African Americans throughout our history. Very thought provoking.
There were a lot of animals on the plantation also.
This guy must have been itchy because he was rubbing himself on the corner of the stable.
This guy had a cute smile.
As did his mate.
Peacock on the buggy.
