Happy Halloween!! The boy and I dressed up as zombies to hand out candy. First we had supper then set up outside to wait for trick-or-treaters. Gil put his penguin costume and we were ready for action. So far we've had 5 kids!! Looks like we're going to be have some left over candy after all!!

Hacklebarney
Hubby and I went hiking in Hacklebarney State Park today. The boy didn't want to come and I'm not bringing Gil out in that much nature (due to the tick issue). It was a gorgeous fall day. I got a new charging cord for my camera and everything seems to be working properly (knock wood), so I had some fun using the timer to get some shots of us together.
A fisherman photo-bombed one of my river photos. Oh well.
Undead Festival
We parked at the boardwalk in Asbury Park (still not knowing exactly where we were). As we started walking up the boardwalk, we noticed a few bloody looking folks and thought they may have been to a Halloween party and hadn't gone home to change. The farther along the boardwalk we got, there were more and more and we realized they were zombies when we saw the signs. Some of the make-up was superb! Or was it make-up?
Jersey Shore
Took a little trip to the Jersey Shore yesterday. It was a gorgeous day, as you can see by the photos. Had Belmar dialed in to the garmin but somehow ended up in Asbury park instead. As luck would have it, there were a gazillion zombies on the board walk. Photos will be in next post, as those were taken on my phone.

Tick Bites
We found 2 bites on Gil and just like the three bears found Goldilocks asleep in the last bed, on the 2nd bite the tick was still there. I tried to get it out but it broke off with the head still in his skin. Called the vet this morning and described it. They said it was a deer tick which does carry the lyme disease. So we're just to watch him for about a month to see if any symptoms show up and in a month he can get the test to know for sure if he has lyme disease or not. I'm really hoping not. And I dread the cost of that test, knowing that in the U.S. the price will be super higher than it should be. I guess he's had his last nature hike!!
