Got to visit with friends this weekend. A couple we knew in Japan, met us at Ground Zero. The memorial is very nice. There is a lot of work still to be done, but the 2 pools with all the names, were very nice. It was very touching. The first photo is of the protesters in NYC, protesting corporate greed. Quite a lot of police milling around in that area, I can tell you! After getting through the protesters, we had to walk through lots of construction and security checks, to get to the actual site. If you plan on going, take note....you must have a reservation! Luckily our friends had made a reservation. Afterwards, we had a fantastic lunch in little Italy, then came back to NJ.
PS The last photo is a little church with a super old cemetery on the street near the 9/11 memorial. I just thought it was cute.
